Product Overview

Fleece Performance PowerFlo Lift Pump Kit for 1991–1997 Dodge/Ram 5.9L 12-Valve Cummins

The Fleece Performance PowerFlo Lift Pump Kit is a complete in-tank fuel-supply upgrade designed for compatible 1991–1997 Dodge Cummins trucks equipped with the 5.9L 12-valve engine.

The kit includes a replacement sending unit and float to help restore proper fuel-gauge operation. It also includes the PowerFlo in-tank lift pump, fuel hose, fittings, wiring components, tank seal, and a mechanical fuel-pump block-off plate.

The dual-gerotor pump design provides increased fuel-flow capacity for stock and modified applications. Fleece Performance rates the system to support applications producing up to 800 horsepower when properly installed and matched to the truck’s fuel requirements.

Key Benefits

  • Complete Fuel-Supply Upgrade: Includes the pump, sending unit, float, plumbing, fittings, wiring, tank seal, and mechanical-pump block-off plate.
  • Direct In-Tank Fitment: Installs without cutting the tank for a sump or adding a separate draw straw.
  • Fuel-Gauge Support: Includes an integral fuel-level sender and replacement float.
  • Dual Gerotor Pumps: Provides increased flow capacity for stock and modified Cummins applications.
  • Active Fill Bucket: Helps maintain fuel around the pump assembly at lower tank levels.
  • High-Flow Capability: Rated by Fleece Performance to support applications producing up to 800 horsepower.

Direct In-Tank Fitment

The PowerFlo Lift Pump installs through the compatible factory sending-unit opening without requiring a tank sump, draw straw, or additional opening in the fuel tank.

Because some older trucks have received replacement or gasoline-model fuel tanks over time, the existing Mopar sending-unit part number must be verified before ordering.

Dual Gerotor Pump Design

The PowerFlo uses two gerotor-style pumps to increase fuel-flow capacity and provide additional pumping capability compared with the original mechanical fuel-supply arrangement.

Fleece Performance rates the system to support applications producing up to 800 horsepower when properly selected and installed.

Active Fill Bucket

The active fill bucket is designed to keep fuel around the pump assembly and help reduce fuel-starvation concerns sometimes associated with external draw straws and tank sumps.

This integrated design supports consistent fuel delivery while retaining an in-tank pickup.

Kit Includes

  • PowerFlo Lift Pump with integral fuel-level sender
  • Replacement sending-unit float
  • 16 feet of push-lock fuel hose
  • Required AN fittings
  • Mechanical fuel-pump block-off plate — FPE-CUMM-FBOP
  • Wiring harness
  • Fuse taps
  • Flange-style fuel-tank seal

Critical Fitment Verification

Verify the existing Mopar sending-unit part number before ordering. If the truck’s current part number is not shown in the cross-reference table, Fleece Performance has not verified the application.

Many older trucks have been retrofitted with gasoline-model tanks or replacement tank configurations. The PowerFlo sending unit may not fit those modified arrangements.

Fuel-Level Sender Resistance Selection

  • 6–113 Ohms: Use Fleece Performance part number FPE-PF-CUMM-9198.
  • 20–220 Ohms: Use Fleece Performance part number FPE-PF-CUMM-98-12V.

Measure or verify the resistance range of the existing fuel-level sender before choosing a kit when the original sending-unit part number cannot be confirmed.

Application Notes

  • Biodiesel Compatibility: Validated by Fleece Performance for fuel containing up to 20% biodiesel.
  • Low-Fuel Warning Lamp: This sending unit does not include provisions to activate the factory low-fuel warning lamp.
  • 1998 12-Valve Trucks: Use the 1998-specific kit, part number FPE-PF-CUMM-98-12V. These trucks were originally equipped with sending unit 52102079AB.
  • 1989–1990 Trucks: This kit may be used only when the truck has been converted to a compatible 1991–1997-style fuel tank.
  • Retrofitted Tanks: Verify the tank and sending-unit configuration before ordering.
