The S&S Diesel Motorsport Gen2.1 CP4 Disaster Prevention Bypass Kit is designed to help protect the fuel system on compatible Ford 6.7L Powerstroke trucks in the event of a CP4 high-pressure fuel pump failure.

When a CP4 pump fails, metal debris from the pump can contaminate critical fuel-system components, including the injectors, fuel rails, lines, lift pump, and fuel tank. The S&S Gen2.1 Disaster Prevention Kit is designed to help isolate this contamination and reduce the amount of debris that can circulate through the rest of the fuel system.

The Gen2.1 system separates the CP4 pump’s case-fuel circuit from the clean fuel supply. Clean, filtered fuel is supplied to the CP4 metering unit and pumping elements, while case-return fuel is routed through a dedicated high-efficiency return filter before returning to the fuel tank.

Compared with the original S&S CP4 Disaster Prevention Kit, the Gen2.1 design relocates the fuel-supply split point approximately 25 inches farther away from the CP4 pump. This helps reduce the possibility of contamination traveling backward into the clean fuel-supply circuit during a pump failure.

The kit also uses OE-style quick-connect fittings throughout the installation. This eliminates the need to cut the factory fuel-supply line or use compression fittings, helping provide a cleaner installation with fewer opportunities for contamination to enter the system.

A CNC-machined billet aluminum return-filter head is included and uses a Donaldson P550943 spin-on fuel filter rated at 9 microns at 99% efficiency. The return filter is designed to capture debris from the CP4 case-fuel circuit before contaminated fuel can return to the tank.

The Gen2.1 kit also supports improved CP4 fuel delivery at higher engine speeds while maintaining a bolt-on installation. Rubber isolators are incorporated into the filter-head mounting system to help reduce noise, vibration, and harshness transfer to the vehicle.

The kit includes the CNC-machined billet aluminum return-filter head, mounting bracket, rubber isolators, Donaldson P550943 fuel filter, quick-connect fuel lines, and required installation hardware.
